DJ .... What an accomplishment!

This month DJ has accomplished so much. He crossed over from cub scouts to Boy scouts. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of all your hard work !!! This week DJ also earned his Scouter badge and is working towards his Tenderfoot, which is advancement in rank. (Scout terminology) DJ also earned his first merit badge for Astronomy, he spent the day at the Clark Planetarium working on all the requirements, but he did it. (I've got to say my brain hurt after going through the class and they were really strict).

WAY TO GO BABY!! One down and only 25 more to go.

JR. Jazz

Both of the boys finished their Jr. Jazz season this month. YEA!!! We have a small break before Lacrosse starts, which they will both be playing this year as they are starting a Brighton team for Brayd's age group. He is so excited. Anyway DJ has improved so much at basketball and well Brayden is just a ball hog. But both the boys had a great time and both of them scored baskets this season.

(DJ almost makes the basket)

(Brayden our ball hog..... LOL!!)

So with your registration you also get to go to a Jazz game. Brayden was so excited that he had received these tickects, since he had never been to a Jazz game (big puppy dog eyes and fat lip says Brayden..... How could we say no to that...LOL). BTW Did I mention that the seats were two rows from the top of the arena. None the less we went to the game. We invited the VanLeeuwens to join us for dinner at Z'Tejas (thanks Neil!!) and then to the game. We had a great time!

WOW!!! What a weekend...

Well we are home.... it was a quick trip but David and I had a great time. First the Cardinals did it..... they will be playing in the SUPERBOWL!!!! David had so much fun at the game, Jason and David left for the game at 7:30am and didn't get home from a day of tailgating and partying until 8:00.

Ashley left the house at 6:30 to make it downtown for her big race. She did amazing!! Ash completed the race in 2 hours and 49 minutes. WAY TO GO SISSY!!!

So as for Jesse and I we started out our morning off by sleeping in.... while everyone else was up early Jesse and I just hung out.
Jesse and I also went on a little adventure of our own. We road the Valley Metro Light rail downtown to find Ashley at the finish line. It was a 1st for both of us and well we made it... it was much better than trying to drive downtown find parking and then find Ashley....

Ashley ended the night with an ICE BATH!!!!

I can't beleive how big Jesse is getting .... he has such a cute personality and I am going to miss him. I can't beleive that he will be 4 months old and to this point I have been able to see him at least once a month. I am not sure when our next trip to AZ will be or when they will be making the trip back to UT but hopefully I will get to see him soon.

So as not to forget my own two wonderful boys ..... when the Cardinals won the game I ran straight to the mall to get them their very own official KURT WARNER #13 Jerserys. Now they are ready for the SUPERBOWL!!!!

Back in Arizona....

So last weekend David was watching all the NFL games closely.... because if the Cardinals won (long shot everyone thought) and if the Eagles won (again a long shot) then the championship game would be played in Arizona. Well by some crazy chance it all came true and on Sunday night David and I bought plane tickets to come to PHX so that David could go to the NFC Championship game with my brother-in-law. Also David broke down and purchased a Arizona Cardianls jersery of course it is a WARNER #13... GO CARDINALS!!!
(Sorry Scotty but we will be cheering on the Cardinals...... LOL!)

While David and Jason are at the game tomorrow. Ashley will be running in the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 Marathon for Leukemia. Jesse and I will be awaiting her arrival at the finish line. Ashley will be running in the race with Sarah and several other friends from her church.

YOU ROCK ASH....... WAY TO GO, I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!

David helped the girls put on their tattoos for the race...

In the end the best part for me is that I agian get to spend time with my little Jesse....

Jesse and I passing the time at Khols while Ashley shops for an outfit to wear tomorrow.

So while everyone was home for the holidays we had family pictures taken. Aren't we such a cute family.... And can I just say the colors and outfits all go together so well. Ashley, Jesse and I spent 8 hours trying to get everyone something that would match and wouldn't you know it we still had complaints. Not naming any names ALLISON, Jason, David and Scott, thanks for putting up with the family photo night. LOL. Anyway I think that the photos turned out great!

Merry Christmas!!!! 2008

After seeing several of you in the last few weeks you have asked what happen to the Christmas traditions that I had promised you at the beginning of the month???? Well I just ran out of time and also I think I thought we had a lot more traditions then perhaps we do.

Just to recap our month:

  • When we decorate the tree we each get a special ornament.
  • Riding Trax downtown to see the lights on Temple square as a family. (Still haven't done it yet)
  • Christmas Eve candlelight service this year we went to the service at Southmountain Christian Church it was really nice.
  • Christmas Eve dinner at my parents (this year at the new condo) with close family friends. Before dinner we have a round of toasts with the group. Dad starts the toast he chooses someone and then that person picks someone else to toast you get the picture. Before presents are given between families the kids have to find the first star. (This year while driving to Grandmas DJ commented on how hard it was going to be given the weather conditions.)
  • New Christmas PJ's - from Nana and Papa Chuck.
  • Christmas morning: Open presents at home and then back to Grandma's for more presents and breakfast.

  • Christmas night we get together usually at our house with the Nance family. This year Brayden's favorite gift was his new drum set (which I am sure David and I will regret soon enough. LOL)
