Last night we went to Thanksgiving Point to see the Holiday Lights with Grandma and Grandpa Abel.... The lights were beautiful and we had a nice evening..... Thanks mom and dad for sharing our first outing this year to see the lights, can't wait for Temple Square on Monday.

Setting up the tree

This year DJ decided to setup the Christmas tree by himself well he accepted a little help from his bro... It is such a blessing that they work so well together they had the tree set up in no time. If only daddy had been as quick to put the lights on.... it took about a week to get him to run the lights. I bet next year DJ figures that out as well. 

Turkey Bowl 2009

For the last three years we have all gotten together on Thanksgiving morning to play a little FOOTBALL. It has become our little tradition. This year was no exception and even though I had to work I went out and watched for a bit...... Can't wait to see you all next year!!

Family Pictures

Last weekend we had family pictures at the Great Salt Lake at sunset. I had been planning this family event since February. Never did I consider that the weather would be a problem in the middle of August. But I woke up last Saturday to a HUGE rain and lightening storm. I was so sad.... but then at about 1:00 the weather started to turn and it ended up being such a beautiful night. Thanks to Highlite Photography for taking such amazing pictures that we will treasure forever and ever!!!!

Guess what we've been doing??

If you said FOOTBALL then ..... Yep you guess it. For the past 3 weeks we have spent every night out on the field. David is coaching Brayden this year. Brayden is so excited to be playing for real this year and David is excited and ready for the challenge of a group of new boys.

DJ has moved up to the PeeWee league and is on Coach Egan's team. He is really enjoying himself and is getting to play some new posision. DJ is playing with several players that played on his team last year so that is also very exciting.

Lacrosse

Both the boys played Spring lacrosse. They both had a blast and really enjoyed being apart of the Brighton team.

Topaz Mountain

In May we went on an adventure..... David's sister had invited us to go to Topaz Mountain and we were going to the cabin that same weekend but at the last minute we decided to go and find Lori and her family. This was a three hour drive and while we were driving I was trying to call Topaz mountain to find out what campsite they were in. LOL If you have ever been to Topaz nountain you would know that it is just a moutain in the middle of nowhere. We were so lucky to find them and they were excited and blown away that we had come.

DJ had so much fun last night canoeing downt the Jordan River. His scout troop is so active and does so many fun this .... he is having so mcuh fun. I must say I was nervous to let his canoe go, but he had a very expirence scout with him so that helped. Out of the 27 boys who left the start point we had 24 boys come in a canoe at the finish point. 3 boys tipped their canoe and then they let go of the canoe which continued down the river with out them. So they ended up walking and then a parent went and picked them up. DJ did make it down the river without getting to wet. YEA!!!

Our "SUPERMAN" is 8!! Happy Birthday Brady-ray! We can't believe that it has been 8 years since you came into our life! You have been such a blessing. We couldn't imange our lives without you . We love you so much. We hope this year will be better than the last and that all your dreams will come true.

Fat Boys Golf Torney

Last weekend we went to St. George for the Fat Boys golf torney. David played 3 days of golf and the boys and I played by the pool and hung out with friends all weekend. We all had so much fun! Thanks for the invite Van Leeuwen's.

So I decided it was time for a change, so if you haven't seen me lately I have cut and colored my hair. I have been wanting to do it for awhile but my adorable husband has talked me out of it ever time. Well not this time. After he shaved his head along with my both my boys heads right before Chirstmas pictures and didn't ask for my opoinion I decided I could do the same. LOL !!

So here I am after my little mid-life crisis (as people have told me). David doesn't mind the change as long as all I plan to change during my crisis is my hair. LOL .

Happy Easter!!!!

We spent the morning on the Ski hill for our last day of the season. We saw the Easter bunny and Chrissy, John and I throw easter eggs out for the boys to pick up while they went down the hill. It was a lot of fun. Both of the boys really improved over the season I am so glad that we were able to spend this time together. Brayden went down all the Blue runs on Snake Creek. I Love you both...... MOMMY

Snap Shot of the Week

This is my favorite one for the week!

So David has a cousin who takes amazing pictures.... and I recently found her blog and find myself going to it often to learn more. Her style of photography is exactly what I would love to learn.

To work towards that goal about a month ago I took a photograpghy class from another one of our cousins Marc and Mindy who have an amazing photography business HIGHLITE PHOTOGRAPHY. I learned all sorts of things about my new camera that my adorable husband got me (Thanks Honey!). I have always enjoyed taking photo's and I would love to really figure out my own style.

Up to this point I have only used a point and shoot camera and just hoped they would turn out. But now that I have a camera I can shoot on manual, I really want to learn and take beautiful pictures. So to that end I realize that it will take lots of practice. Sorry boys ...... but you will be helping Mommy pratice. Following in another one of David's cousins footsteps (Dave has lots of cousins) I am going to post a "Snap Shot of the Week". Hopefully you don't mind me stealing your idea Steph. This will be a photo that I have taken during the week that I think is the one of the best. Again please bear with me while I pracitce and also let me know what you think of them.

Skiing with the boys...

So last year our good firends told me how if I purchased early (Sept) I could get each of the boys a season pass to Brighton for only $50. This has been a great activity that the three of us, we have been enjoying together all season. Today we went to church and then up the canyon for a few hours. What a way to spend your Sunday. DJ is snowboarding and Bryaden is skiing. They are both improving so much over the last several months. Brayden's 1st ride on the Big Chair Lift (Majestic)

DJ .... What an accomplishment!

This month DJ has accomplished so much. He crossed over from cub scouts to Boy scouts. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of all your hard work !!! This week DJ also earned his Scouter badge and is working towards his Tenderfoot, which is advancement in rank. (Scout terminology) DJ also earned his first merit badge for Astronomy, he spent the day at the Clark Planetarium working on all the requirements, but he did it. (I've got to say my brain hurt after going through the class and they were really strict).

WAY TO GO BABY!! One down and only 25 more to go.

JR. Jazz

Both of the boys finished their Jr. Jazz season this month. YEA!!! We have a small break before Lacrosse starts, which they will both be playing this year as they are starting a Brighton team for Brayd's age group. He is so excited. Anyway DJ has improved so much at basketball and well Brayden is just a ball hog. But both the boys had a great time and both of them scored baskets this season.

So with your registration you also get to go to a Jazz game. Brayden was so excited that he had received these tickects, since he had never been to a Jazz game (big puppy dog eyes and fat lip says Brayden..... How could we say no to that...LOL). BTW Did I mention that the seats were two rows from the top of the arena. None the less we went to the game. We invited the VanLeeuwens to join us for dinner at Z'Tejas (thanks Neil!!) and then to the game. We had a great time!

WOW!!! What a weekend...

Well we are home.... it was a quick trip but David and I had a great time. First the Cardinals did it..... they will be playing in the SUPERBOWL!!!! David had so much fun at the game, Jason and David left for the game at 7:30am and didn't get home from a day of tailgating and partying until 8:00.

Ashley left the house at 6:30 to make it downtown for her big race. She did amazing!! Ash completed the race in 2 hours and 49 minutes. WAY TO GO SISSY!!!

So as for Jesse and I we started out our morning off by sleeping in.... while everyone else was up early Jesse and I just hung out.

Jesse and I also went on a little adventure of our own. We road the Valley Metro Light rail downtown to find Ashley at the finish line. It was a 1st for both of us and well we made it... it was much better than trying to drive downtown find parking and then find Ashley....

Ashley ended the night with an ICE BATH!!!!

I can't beleive how big Jesse is getting .... he has such a cute personality and I am going to miss him. I can't beleive that he will be 4 months old and to this point I have been able to see him at least once a month. I am not sure when our next trip to AZ will be or when they will be making the trip back to UT but hopefully I will get to see him soon.

So as not to forget my own two wonderful boys ..... when the Cardinals won the game I ran straight to the mall to get them their very own official KURT WARNER #13 Jerserys. Now they are ready for the SUPERBOWL!!!!
